I am taking part in a blog hop but on by The Spot Creative, this is challenge #164. These are weekly challenges put on by a group of Stampin' Up! ® Demonstrators, and you can find the challenges HERE. These challenges are a great way to gain inspiration for different types of cards or techniques, with this week being a masculine theme. Not sure about all of you, but I struggle to make masculine cards of all types, as I always want to embellish and bling a card out.
I chose to use the Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set and Beautiful Trees dies for my card, and my sentiment came from Best Year. I chose Early Espresso as my card base cut a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". My Bumblebee layer is cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and my DSP layer is cut at 4" x 5 1/4". You will need scraps of Crumb Cake and Basic White in order to stamp the trees and leaves. You will also need a piece of Basic White cut at 4" x 51/4" for the inside as well.
The ink color for the trees stamped on Crumb Cake is Early Espresso, stamped off once first. For the leaves, I started with Mossy Meadow and stamped off first, followed by Crushed Curry also stamped off once and then Bumblebee full strength. I rotated the stamp slightly each time so they were not perfectly lined up. My sentiments, inside and out are stamped in Early Espresso as well. I used Multipurpose glue on everyone except the front leaves and front sentiment, which I used dimensionals for.
I hope you have enjoyed my inspiration today for a masculine card, and that perhaps have inspired you to make a masculine card or join the next Spot Creative Challenge with us.
