Paper Crafting Blog Hop August All About Suites - Plaid Tidings Suite

Hello and welcome to our August Monthly Blog Hop!  We thank you for joining us for our monthly blog hop this month.  Our theme this month is All About Suites, highlighting all the suites we have in our Annual and New Mini Catalog.  We have talented Independent Stampin' Up! ® Demonstrators from around the world taking part this month to show you wonderful products and suites from our catalogs.  You may have joined me from Terri's blog and their project was wonderful.

For my card today I chose to feature the Plaid Tidings Suite in the new Mini Catalog.  It has a beautiful Stamp Set called Celebration Tidings along with a Die Set called Celebration Label Dies.  The papers are amazing and have patterns for all seasons. It also come with some beautiful 3/8" Embroidered Ribbon.  I am using all of these products in my card for you today.

I started with a card base in Crushed Curry, cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  I then added a thin layer of Pretty Peacock cut at 4 1/8" x 5 3/8".  I then added a piece of the Plaid Tidings DSP cut at 4 1/4" x 5" as I wanted that to be the focal point of my card. You will need a scrap of Whisper White to cut out the label, it is the 2nd one counting from inside of the package!  You will also need a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White inside piece if you wish.

I chose the pumpkins and coordinating leaf bottom stamps for my card today.  I lined both of them up on one stamp and spaced them apart enough to get my sentiment in between!  I used my grid paper to make them straight and then put them on the block.  I stamped it in Memento Black Tuxedo Ink as I wanted to ensure I could use my Stampin' Blends to color them in.  I used the following Stampin' Blends colors to color my label: Light Shaded Spruce for leaves, Dark Mango Melody for leaves/flowers, light and dark Pumpkin Pie for Pumpkins and Dark Crumb Cake for pumpkin Stems.

I then adhered my label using Stampin' Dimensionals.  To finish I used the ribbon that comes in this Suite, the Embroidered Ribbon, but also used the Metallic copper ribbon that comes in the new mini catalog from the Gilded Autumn Suite.  I simply tied them in a knot and adhered them the left top corner with a glue dot.  I added a few cinnamon cider enamel dots as well to finish it off.  Again here is a picture of my card. I hope you enjoy it.

I hope you have enjoyed hopping with us this month.  Below this you can click the image to go to Carol's blog where another wonderful project awaits you!  Please join us next month as we feature all about Punches in our two catalogs.

Today I have chosen to use a Stamp Set from the Annual Catalog called Hooray To You as I was in need of a birthday card!  I have also used the Playing With Patterns 6x6 DSP as it is gorgeous and makes making a card so easy.

Here is the card I have made for you!

I used 3 Stampin' Blends to color my flowers on my balloon and those are Dark Purple Posey, Dark Pool Party and Dark Flirty Flamingo!  Only ink I used was Memento Tuxedo Black.  I added the bow using the Twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack. I finished the front by adding Basic Rhinestones and then spritzing champagne glimmer paint mixed with alcohol to make it sparkle.  I spritz from about 6 to 9 inches away and 2 to 3 times depending how much sparkle you want! It dries quick and is beautiful!

Measurements for my card are as follows:

Card Base is Misty Moonlight 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2".  My first layer is Purple Posey and it is cut at 4" x 5 1/4".  My DSP is cut at 3 3/4" x 5" and my whisper white is cut at 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".  My whisper white for the inside is cut at 4" x 5 1/4".

Here is an inside look at the card with the sentiment and stamped and colored flowers from the set.

Nothing's Better Than Saturday Night Facebook Live August 1st, 2020

Tonight on my Facebook Live I featured the Nothing's Better Than Stamp set and dies! The set was designed by $1 Million achiever Connie Stewart and I have followed her for years and this set definitely fits her!!! I do three cards on my Live, a Beginner Stamper card, a Casual Stamper card and an Avid Stamper Card.

For the beginner stamper card I use only paper, ink and stamps!  I featured the coffee cups in this cute stamp set.  I began by cutting a card base at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4" in Flirty Flamingo.  My layer is Coastal Cabana and is cut at 4"x 5 1/4".  My Whisper White layer that is stamped on is 3 3/4" x 5".  The ink colors I used are Memento Tuxedo Black, Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake.  For the crumb cake I did stamp off one time before stamping the steam.  The inside layer of Whisper White is cut at 4" x 5 1/4" as well.  Only thing I added was Wink of Stella to the coffee cups to make them SPARKLE!!!

For the casual stamper card I added a punch and some Designer Series Paper (DSP) to step it up a notch!  My card base is Bermuda Bay and it cut at 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2".  My DSP is Magenta Madness from the 2020-2022 In-Colors DSP pack and is cut at 4" x 5 1/4".  You need a scrap of both Bermuda Bay and Whisper White to punch out the 2 1/4" circle punch. I then just off-centered them on each other once I stamped the chocolates on the white circle.  I also used a 1/4" x 4" strip of Whisper White to stamp my sentiment and a 4" x 5 1/4" piece for the inside of the card.  Ink pads I used were Magenta Madness and Bermuda Bay to stamp the stars, and Early Espresso and Soft Suede  for the chocolates.  It is simple yet a step up from beginner stamping.

For the avid stamper card, I incorporated the dies that go with this Stamp set that are called Love You More Than dies.  I also used the 2nd and 3rd largest Stitched Nested Label Dies as well.  My card base for this card is Coastal Cabana cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  My basic black layer is cut at 4" x 5 1/4" and my Shimmery Whisper White layer is cut at 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" and then sponged with Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo.  I also needed scraps of basic black and shimmery whisper white for the label dies and the cocktails glasses and cocktails die!  I used the Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo sponged to cut out the Cocktails die and used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay and Mango Melody for the cocktail glasses.  I popped up the stitched nested label black die on the white sponged background and also popped up the drinks.  I added some basic rhinestones and wink of stella to finish it off.

I hope you have enjoyed these three cards that show different methods for you and your customers!  If you don't have a current Stampin' Up! ® demo and would like any products, use the contact me method above and I will send you a catalog or head HERE to shop with me now!
